The Festival Series 2025 – Day 4 Recap
The Festival Series 2025 here in Rozvadov continued today at King's Resort, Europe's poker palace in the Czech countryside. Today saw the first flight to the €550 Mixed Games Main Event - HORSES - Day 1A, the second flight to the €250 Mystery Bounty, and the €250 Sviten Special, which ran deep into the night. Moreover, a certain "Silberrücken" claimed their second title of this Festival Series in the €125 Holdem 6+ Bounty (Short deck) (Bounty €25). Let's jump in.
Holdem 6+ Bounty (Short deck) (Bounty €25)
Horst "Silberrücken" Böschen has joined a select group of players as he claimed his second title at this Festival Series, and one of the only players to win two events in two different poker variants. He joins the likes of Gabriel Rymar, Andrew Hanak and Jaccapo Hester in an exclusive club of dual winners. In the case of Hanak, he won three titles in Bratislava in 2023.
Böschen bested a field of 109 entrants, 59 of which were unique. Judging by the stack of bounty cards Böschen had in front of him, it looks like he secured a decent portion of the bounties that were put into play, on top of the €2,189 first-place prize! Below is the payout table, not including bounties earned.
Böschen was involved in an interesting hand that resulted in Stefano Bertoldi being the victim of the bubble. Bertoldi was forced all-in in the big blind, which is also an interesting dynamic within this short deck tournament, as traditionally everyone plays an ante and the button plays a double ante as the effective big blind. Queen-high was good on a paired board, which is a rarity in short deck, and Bertoldi was eliminated.
The "silver gorilla" dispatched Finnish national Kare Valtteri Hallamaa heads-up, who appeared to want to strike a deal with Böschen, who declined due to an overwhelming chip lead.

€250 Sviten Special
A field of 61 took to the felt in the Sviten Special, a variant that originated in Sweden that combines PLO and aspects of five-card draw. The tournament ended with a deal being struck between Toomas Samuel Maekikokko of Finland and Johannes Goossens of the Netherlands. Maekikokko claimed €1 more than his opponent and first place.
