Sometimes things happen in such a way that we feel like we’ve experienced it before. This is quite common in poker because let’s face it with all lost with Ace-King versus Queens multiple times, however this isn’t really déjà vu because it’s such a common occurrence.
Something happened here today at The Festival in Malta was much more unusual. Today’s Pot Limit Omaha offering was a €250 buy-in Freezeout, which had 27 entrants. But it’s not the first €250 Pot Limit Omaha tournament has taken place during the week as there was also the €250 PLO Masters, which was won by Jacco Hester from the Netherlands, beating Irishman David K Lappin heads up.
In today’s tournament the same two players remarkably got heads up once again and in a repeat of what happened earlier in the week Jacco won for the second time. This is uncommon, but not unheard of and there are probably numerous examples of the same two players getting heads up in tournaments. However, there was one additional coincidence that makes today’s result even more unique, as the third place finisher Daniel Orlowski was also the third place finisher in the PLO Masters.
Congratulations to Jacco, who took the title, the first prize of €2,550 and becomes the first double winner of The Festival Malta.
