Kuna Still in the Lead After 4/5 Day 1s

Day 1d leader Pavel Svach (right) - good, but not good enough?

So, the chip counts are finally in from Day 1d. The 458 entries have been whittled down to 141, with Pavel Svach in the lead on 303,000. Barring something spectacular emerging from Day 1e, the overall chip leader at the start of Day 2 will still be top of the Day 1c pops, Attila Kuna, on a commanding 384,000.

The first four starting flights registered a total of 1,052 entries, but we're nowhere near done - Day 1e is ongoing with 113 entries so far, and those numbers are going to keep on rising until well into Day 2 tomorrow, with registration remaining open until the end of Level 14.

Speaking of which, Day 2 is due to start at noon tomorrow, and we're certain that players will be fresh and alert following the party that's going on somewhere near the casino tonight. They'll be in a perfect frame of mind to chuck in a few more rebuys before reg finally closes and this massive Main Event finally becomes a freezeout.

Elsewhere the side events are still in full swing, with the champions in assortedly the Open Face Chinese, Ladies', and €15k NLH due to be determined at some point between now and breakfast. We'll report back on those in the fullness of time.

We'll be back on the floor from the start of play until the bitter end - the idea is to play down through the bubble and on to a somewhat optimistic two tables. We suspect we'll end up calling it a night with a few more tables than that, but we'll just have to wait and see. Until tomorrow then: party on. 🤘
