The Festival Online: Action Sunday This Weekend

The third weekend of The Festival Online powered by 888poker is all about the action-packed 8-max tournaments. The big 8-max event this Sunday comes with a vast $100,000 guarantee. The buy-in is $109 and the tournament is running over two days until Monday evening.

8-max probably doesn't sound like it's much of a difference compared to normal tournaments with nine players per table. But the games with only eight players are much more action-packed, especially in the middle and later stages when the blinds are high. During one orbit, every player sees fewer hands and the blinds pose a greater threat to any smaller stacks more quickly. Because of this, you see far more raises and 3-bets pre-flop and in general, play becomes noticeably more aggressive. That's on the Menu this Sunday

The biggest tournament this weekend is the Sunday 8-Max event with a buy-in of $109. The tournament allows up to five re-entries and guarantees a whopping $100,000, kicking off at 8 pm (CEST) Sunday evening. For players who can not join that early, there is the possibility to late register until midnight. Play will continue until the final table is reached. Then the remaining eight players will go on a one-day break and the final table will be continued on Monday evening from 21:00 (CEST) and broadcast on the Twitch account of 888poker with a half-hour delay.

Players with a larger bankroll can also play the 8-max High Roller tournament with a $40,000 guarantee. This tournament costs $525 and starts at 20:30 (CEST). There is a shorter late-registration period for this event and it still ends Monday night. Last but not least, there is also an Omaha event scheduled this Sunday at 9 pm (CEST). With a buy-in of just $22, the PLO Low Roller has a guarantee of $1,500 and should be a fun event for anyone who likes to play with more than two hole cards.
