As today is the first day of the festival, it’s also the day for welcome drinks. A small gathering of around 35 people turned up for a glass of fizz or a cup of tea after.
The drinks were organised by Alona Sergeevna, who is our hospitality host here this week. It’s her first time working at The Festival, after which she will go back to her usual day job as a swimming instructor.
It’s obvious that her real job has prepared her well for this week as she’s dived in at the deep end and is doing swimmingly well.
