8-Max Victory for “laromachikne” at The Festival Online
The third major weekend of The Festival Online powered by 888poker concluded on Monday night. The player with the nick laromachikne won the big Texas 8-Max and collected more than $16,200 in prize money.
The Festival Online Texas 8-Max - Final Results

The Texas 8-Max, with a $109 buy-in, was by far the biggest event in this weekend's Festival Online Series. An impressive 1,048 entries were in the books after the late reg phase was over, exceeding the guarantee. The tournament started on Sunday and was played until the early hours of Monday morning. Then the last eight players were found and the first day of play was over. Those last eight players returned to the final table on Monday night to play for the victory and the lion's share of the prize money. The entire final table was broadcast live on 888poker's Twitch channel. The action was commentated by David Tuchman and Nick Wealthall and during the stream, they offered various giveaways.
After a little under two hours of play, only three players were left. The eventual winner laromachikne already had a huge lead at that point with more than two-thirds of all the chips. The player GediminasDir was eliminated in third place. He went all-in with 6-6 against an open-raise and was called by laromachikne with 9-9. The inferior sixes found no help on the board and that left laromachikne with only one opponent at the table. This one was nicknamed MIKEPOSTLE and he had only 7 big blinds against laromachikne's 83 big blinds when the heads-up began. MIKEPOSTLE was able to double up once, but eventually, he was defeated by laromachikne. In the last hand (screenshot above), the short stack was all-in with Q-6 and was called A-Q. MIKEPOSTLE had serious kicker problems and he lost the final all-in after the board ran out K-K-7-3-4 and didn't improve his hand. For his second-place finish, he still received around $11,800 while laromachikne won $16,200.
The Festival Online Texas 8-Max High Roller - Final Results

The second big Festival Tournament this weekend was a good deal more expensive. For a buy-in of $525, the 8-Max High Roller was played. This one had 111 entries and a total of $55,500 was played for.
After about 6 hours the victory went to the Lithuanian player NL_sport. Two weeks ago he already finished second at the Opening High Roller of the Festival Online. For his victory this Sunday he received more than $15,100 in prize money.
The Festival Online PLO Low Roller - Final Results

Sunday also saw another lower-priced event played as part of The Festival Online. The $22 PLO Low Roller attracted 160 entrants and the player samsungas won in the early Monday hours.
The Festival Online - This Week's Schedule
This Tuesday, two smaller events are on the schedule as part of The Festival Online on 888poker. There is a Knockout 8-Max tournament with a buy-in of $88 with $10,000 guaranteed and also a small $33 Turbo PLO tournament.
On Thursday our big Main Event satellite tournament is on the menu. This tournament will feature 40 guaranteed tickets to the Main Event worth $215 each. The buy-in is a moderate $22. The Main Event begins on Sunday and guarantees $150,000 over two days of play.
