Aikman and McCabe Take Gold and Silver for Scotland

Two of the players in today’s Day 1e turbo field are Lewis Aikman and Stephen McCabe from Scotland. They traveled to The Festival in Malta together and ended up heads-up in the No Limit Hold’em High Roller last night for a Scottish 1-2 in the event.
It’s been a remarkable week for the pair, especially Lewis, who could be a potential future prodigy of the game. The 23-year old from Belshill has been playing online for a couple of years and studying the game hard, but has only recently ventured into the casino to play live.
He finished as runner up in The Hendon Mob Championship just one day before the high roller took place for a lifetime best live cash of €8,900 and then more than doubled it the next day for a further €18,500. McCabe cashed for €12,150 and between the pair of them they have pocketed over €40,000 in the space of two days.

Lewis had a few nice results this summer at Grosvenor Casino events in the UK, but this is his first overseas trip to a live poker festival. It’s certainly not going to be his last and maybe he will be joining the likes of Ludovic Geilich, Niall Farrell, Dean Hutchinson and David Docherty as one of the top Scottish poker players in the next few years.
Stephen McCabe has been playing for a few years longer, but had an eight year hiatus between his first Hendon Mob recorded result in 2015 and his next, which wasn’t until 2023. He’s been back on the circuit since then and is also one to watch going forward.
