Meet The Festival Series Friend: Alen Kojadinovic – Former online poker pro who now writes AI code

The Festival Series codebook has from the beginning been programmed with a line that includes not only poker activities, and such as entertaining casino tournaments like blackjack or roulette but also the possibility to meet and get to know new people. To be able to meet them at the gaming tables and outside of them. One good example of this is our good friend Alen, whom we last met at our first stop in Bratislava back in 2021, but with whom we will have the opportunity to reunite in less than three weeks in Malta. We took a moment to call Alen to confirm his arrival in Malta.

The Festival Media Team: Hey Alen! Nice to hear from you again. Could you please first introduce yourself briefly to our readers? Who are you, where are you from, and what is your experience with poker?

Alen: I come from Sweden. Back in the day, I used to play a lot of online poker. I enjoyed the fast-paced action and would often play up to 24 tables on PokerStars, relying on hotkeys to keep up with the action, If I’m not mistaken, I believe the software was called “TableNinja”, what a game changer that was! However, as time went on, the games around NL200-400 just got too damn tough so decided to step away from the game and focus on my studies.

The Festival Media Team: So can we call you an ex-online pro from now on or have you also moved on to the world of live poker?

Alen: Hehee, ex-online pro. I am not that old to be a pension, but about live poker, then I had the opportunity to attend TheFestival in Bratislava in 2021. That was my first live poker event in Europe after a 10-year hiatus from online tables. The event was a blast, with a variety of side events, both poker related and outside of the casino, to keep things interesting. Remember playing the PokerListings Deepstack tournament and naturally busting on the semi-bubble with a flip.... of course! :D

The Festival Media Team: We are glad to hear that despite some bad luck in the game, you still have positive memories of visiting our event. How would you rate The Festival Series in terms of the organization overall?

Alen: More so than Poker, what is enticing with TheFestival is Franke's ability to pick out the good locations for these series. Bratislava was a charming city, full of history and culture. Oh, and the cheap beer and food were just amazing! It was a great place to explore and take morning walks to the famous city castle. And perhaps if it wasn’t for The Festival I wouldn’t have visited the city.

I'm also eagerly looking forward to attending the next edition of The Festival, which is scheduled to take place in Malta from May 15-21. It's going to be a great event, excited to see what it has in store. I'm also hoping to get lucky and win some flips against the competition!

The Festival Media Team: Leaving poker aside, today you have made a total U-turn, and working on ...

Alen:
Yes. Nowadays, I'm busy building our company; humbl.ai delivering Automation and AI solutions for our clients. We’re a fast-paced company with some truly brilliant developers on board. The amount of code output these last few months have been mind-blowing. Needless to say, I and the team are very excited about the future.

The Festival Media Team: Finally, what would you say to those players who haven't yet decided whether to come to Malta or not? How would you convince them to come?

Alen: Overall, I had a fantastic experience at The Festival in Bratislava and can't wait to attend the next one. If you're a poker player looking for a fun and challenging live event, I highly recommend checking it out. And if you're interested in learning more about humbl.ai as a company and what we do, feel free to reach out.

NEXT STOP after MALTA?

We have recently been asked frequently whether and when The Festival Bratislava 2023 will take place. Now, stop everything you're doing and pay attention - we will be announcing the dates for our next stop right here on The Festival website later this week, and we can hint that this stop will probably be very pleasing to our good friend Alen. You'll have to wait a bit for the dates to be announced.
