The Festival in Malta Blog Coverage Begins Sunday 8th September

It’s been a long wait since the last Festival Series event took place at Kings Casino in Rozvadov, but that wait is now finally over and at last we are back with another bumper festival that includes 45 events packed into an eight day festival of poker, casino games and above all fun!

When it comes down to it, what sets The Festival Series apart from all other poker tours is the varied mix of poker variants and the non-poker games that form the backbone of the tournament schedule, with unique formats that you simply won’t see anywhere else. However, every event is also a learning experience, a work in progress if you will and we are always looking to improve the player experience. We hope you enjoy the week and feedback is most welcome!

There has of course been The Festival Online recently on iPoker and with satellites on the same network and on a variety of other sites, such as Party Poker, Unibet and Coolbet, there are lots of players who have qualified their way into this event in Malta.

The Festival in Malta Live Coverage: What to Expect

Whether you are a player taking part, a friend or family member of a player or simply a fan of live poker, you can follow coverage of The Festival in Malta in a number of ways. You might prefer text based blog commentary, video montages and interviews or short clips on Instagram. Either way we’ve got you covered.

Live Blog:

The Festival in Malta live blog will be in operation, written by myself, Jonathan Raab, from Sunday 7th until Sunday 8th, with news, results, event reports and info about what’s going on at the Festival in Malta. We’ll cover the Mixed Games Main Event (H.O.R.S.E.S) final day in a little more depth, as we will for the HendonMob Championship and of course the Main Event. Will Sascha Manns add to the Mixed Main Event title he won in Rozvadov?

We’ll also follow stories from off-the-felt at the many hospitality events that are taking place. Our hospitality host for the Festival in Malta is Alona Sergeevna.

And we'll update you throughout the week with standings for the Player of The Series award, the cash game challenges and even what’s going down (or up) in the Franke’s Flip Flops one-hand tournaments.

There’s also a gallery on the blog which will have the latest pictures from the event and gallery of all event winners during the series, taken by photographer extraordinaire Mairo, the Estonian Weirdo Toom.

Social Channels:

We’ll also be posting extensively on our various social channels.

This will include videos from the tournaments and the hospitality events, with interviews conducted by none other than the legend himself, Andreas ‘Wiseguy’ Hoglund and will be posted on Instagram, Facebook, X and Youtube. Video footage is filmed by the exceptionally talented Nekit Helljesus (unconfirmed real surname) and editing is done by the mercurial Aleksandr Pljuw.

The highly talented Melvin Schroen will once again be taking to the social channels with his unique brand of short clips and funnies.

Streamers:

There won’t be a live TV table this time, however there are several poker streamers expected to be in attendance at the event, providing an alternative way to follow the event. Known to be on their way (or already here) are Scott ‘Pokerbrahs’ Kenyon from the UK, Norwegian Yilva ‘jevakim’ Thorsrud and Václav "Lemon" Dušek from Czechia.

Several more are expected to attend, including some casino game streamers, many of which can be found on Twitch.

Opening Days Highlights

The Festival in Malta begins just as the Vamos Poker Tour is ending. In an act of poker love, the two tours agreed to share the venue on Sunday 8th September, which is the last day of Vamos and the first day of the Festival.

The Vamos Poker Tour’s €340 Main Event will be on its final table, while the Festival Series kicks off at 2pm with Day 1a of the of €250 The HendonMob Championship. This is the first of three starting days of the event.

The €550 H.O.R.S.E.S format Mixed Games Main Event also takes place on the opening day, starting at 3pm. It has a further starting day on Monday.

The €550 Main Event begins on Tuesday 10th, with the first of five starting flights.
