The Festival Series Presents: Hospitality Schedule in Malta 2024
The hospitality experiences at our live events have always been designed with the players in mind. For those who have included hospitality activities in their full package, we are thrilled to once again offer an exceptional hospitality schedule. This time, it’s fully immersed in the rich traditions of Malta, promising an unforgettable cultural journey.
Live poker should be seen as a poker vacation—an opportunity to visit iconic poker destinations around Europe, where fun and enjoyment are the true keys to success. While the thrill of live poker events remains central to the experience, it's the exciting side activities that add an extra dimension to the entire adventure that is called 'The Festival Series'. Martin 'Franke' von Zweigbergk and The Festival team, in collaboration with Portomaso Casino, have crafted a mouth-watering hospitality program that promises to make your stay unforgettable!
At the Portomaso Casino, we will have our own welcome desk for package holders, located right next to the registration desk at the main floor (Franke's Flip Flop games will also be here). Alona, our new hospitality hostess, will be glad to welcome you and make sure all your questions in regard to the hospitality package will be answered swiftly, including handing out merchandise packages if they are included.

Schedule for Exclusive Package Holders:
The Festival Series Malta will kick off on Sunday, September 8, and so does the hospitality schedule! We will welcome all players at Portomaso Casino with 'Welcome Drinks' in the cash game area on the bottom floor, next to all the casino games. Make sure to bring a good smile with you!
A week full of poker action, activities, and lots of sun! To start things off right, we’re heading to 'The Avenue' for a Pizza Lunch on Monday, September 9. It's an early start, as we gather at the location at 13:00 local time.
On Tuesday, hospitality package holders can start practicing their knockouts with 'Boxercise.' There are three sessions available each day, for the next five days. Sports are important for poker players and often get overlooked (even by The Festival Staff!). Trainer Christian will be expecting you at 08:00, 08:45, or 09:30 local time—make sure to show up in your sports outfit! (Maximum 4 persons per session). The location of the lessons is at the end of Portomaso Marina.
We’ll continue Tuesday with one of the highlights of this edition: visiting the CISK Brewery. As you might know, the 'tea' in Malta is one of Franke's favourites, so this activity couldn't be left out! Meet outside the casino at 11:00 sharp, as the bus leaves at 11:15 local time. After a guided tour through the brewery and 'testing the waters,' the bus will bring us back by 14:30. Once back at the casino, it's time for FLIPS, FLIPS, FLIPS!

On Wednesday, September 11, we’ll start the day with 'Boxercise' again. Three sessions are available, with a maximum of 4 people per session. It's a great chance to try boxing and release those 'bad beat' stories from your system.
When in Malta, you simply can’t miss a pool party! From 11:00 until 17:00, hospitality holders will enjoy an epic pool party at the Flo Sky Pool, one of Malta’s top spots. Drop by anytime during the event, and enjoy a few drinks, a refreshing swim, and good music with your poker buddies!
And that’s not all! The first 'Wine Tasting' session of the week will take place at the rooftop of the JL Hotel. From 19:00 until 21:00, players will savour some of the island's best wines, paired with a great mix of Maltese cheeses. It promises to be a great way to start the evening in style! Remember that you need to sign up in advance for one of the three available 'Wine Tasting' sessions. It is not possible to show up, without having registered yourself through our hospitality hostess Alona, this to avoid exceeding the maximum capacity each day.

On Thursday, we’ll see if Christian, Franke’s (former) boxing trainer, has found any real talent within our hospitality group. Boxing sessions will be available throughout the morning, with 4-person slots per session.
Ever dreamed of sailing on a catamaran? Then circle Thursday, September 12, on your calendar! Players need to gather at the Sliema Waterfront by 09:30 local time, across from Burger King. This is one of the main spots for boat rides in Malta, easily reachable by bus, taxi, or even by foot. The captain will drop us off at the same location at 17:00, giving you plenty of time to jump into the evening tournaments.
If you miss the sailing cruise, don’t worry! Another 'Wine Tasting' session is planned for the evening. From 19:00 onwards, the rooftop at the JL Hotel will once again welcome you for great wines and the finest Maltese cheeses. Register yourself through our hospitality hostess, Alona.

Friday is one of the top days in a live poker series. Kick it off in style with boxing sessions in the morning—trainer Christian will have you ready for a long day at the tables! Later in the evening, enjoy another 'Wine Tasting' session, exploring the best of Maltese wines and cheeses. The rooftop at the JL Hotel is perfect for snapping some photos to share with friends back home, especially as the sun sets. Do not forget to sign up for the wine tasting sessions, it is mandatory to sign up through Alona, our hospitality hostess.

Not only does Saturday, September 14, mark Day 2 of the Main Event and the Mystery Bounty tournament—it’s also the day of the Player’s Party! We’ll share the location and time throughout the week, but rest assured, it’s going to be epic!
Don't miss the morning sessions with Christian. These will be the final boxing sessions available for hospitality holders, and they’re a great warm-up before the important poker events kick off.
On Sunday, September 15, we’ll close our hospitality activities in style. The Guided Tour has always been part of the schedule, and it’s a must-do in Malta.
