The Hendon Mob Championship - Final Day

Let's get back to the action! We are taking a look back on Thursday where we had of course day 1/c and 1/d of the Main Event, but all eyes were set on The Hendon Mob Championship final day! Who would be getting this prestigious first prize with a prize of over €17,000 and the additional package for The Hendon Mob Championship final in Cape Town?

The final nine players found their way to the feature table and the crew of SpadePoker was ready to make sure that people at home wouldn't miss out on any of the action by taking care of the livestream. George Sandford, known for his excellent analytic knowledge of the poker game, took a seat in the commentary booth for a stream which presumed to be a long haul. David Vesely, one of the owners of our newest media partner Pokertime.CZ, took place at the final table as well, but unfortunately busted out of the tournament in great fashion with Ace-King versus Ace-King. He left the stage fairly quickly and almost forgot his cool The Hendon Mob merchandise that all remaining players had received from Hans Kleinsman After that, one of the two Norwegians at this table found his Waterloo by busting out in eighth place. Jan Erik Iversen took home €2,450 for his efforts, while his home isn't far at all as he lives in Bratislava from what we know.

After that, it went pretty fast with the bust outs of the largest The Hendon Mob Championship in the history of The Festival Series here in Bratislava. Ronen Mordechai, Jason Shellum, Hristo Dimitrov, were not fortunate enough to beat the likes of Vegard Granli and former Novembe-Niner Martin Staszko, who managed to reach the deciding Heads Up battle of this tournament. It would turn out to become a breath-taking battle, which took the needed time for it. It was eventually around 5 AM when Staszko's boat capsized, who was visibly unhappy due to certain moves he made during the last hours of play. There was more possible for the Czech player who became 2nd in the WSOP Main Event of 2011 for over $5,400,000.

Vegard Granli, hailing from Norway, wasn't impressed by the historical statistics of his opponent (Link) and smoothly went on to take the trophy by winning the last hand with pocket Jacks. With his victory, he not only won €17,745 but also got rewarded with a full package for The Hendon Mob Championship Final, taking place exactly today! Luckily he was allowed to roll over the package to 2025! Congratulations are in place for Vegard Granli, who was yelled to the victory by a large Norwegian crowd who all were watching the live stream.
