The Festival Series Hospitality Prop bet – Tee Off with a Twist
The Festival Series has organized five stops to date - two in Bratislava, one in Nottingham, England, one in Malta in May of this year, and one in Tallinn last year. Tallinn, in fact, is the place and city from which the original idea and concept of The Festival Series originated. The concept, which emphasizes not only poker but also the friendly and enjoyable conduct of various special events. Many of you have probably visited us and seen what happens during the hospitality events. In addition to tea drinking, bowling games, or axe throwing, one way to have fun is through various side bets.
And who else could make slightly eccentric bets if not our very own spiritual leader and teacher, Franke? Franke is known for his unique and unconventional approach to wagers. Golf Showdown: Franke vs Andro - Who´s the Ace of the Greens?
Two old friends, Martin "Franke" von Zweigbergk, the creator of The Festival Series, and Andro Loos, the former project manager of the Cashgame Festival, met one peaceful afternoon in Amsterdam, where Andro brought up golf and claimed to be very good at it. Franke, who has played golf only about three times in his life, the last time being nearly 15 years ago, didn't believe in Andro's skills. After a passionate conversation lasting a couple of hours, they conclude that they should hit the golf course and see who is the real tiny version of Tiger Woods. In the video below, you can see the bet they made and what they will be playing for.
Franke: "I've known Andro for over ten years, and in my opinion, he's a guy who always gets involved in various endeavors, but ultimately, the only thing he's been really successful at is making babies. In golf, he doesn't stand a chance against me because the last time I played golf, I did it so well that ever since then, I receive calls from the PGA about joining the Golf Hall of Fame. So far, I haven't accepted their offer, but after defeating Andro, I can easily consider stepping next to Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, and Ben Hogan."
Andro: "I'm probably not the first or the last to challenge Franke, knowing full well that he has no chance of winning this bet honestly. I'm prepared for the fact that the referee has been bribed, that the golf course turns into an ice rink, and that we have to play on skates. And somehow, my hole-in-one shots end up in the bunker ten meters away from the green when they should be right in the hole."
