Defending Cash Game Challenge Champion Franke Takes Lead in Bratislava

The Festival Series founder Martin "Franke" von Zweigbergk ran hot played well during the last The Festival Series at Portomaso Casino in Malta when he won more than 3,000 big blinds in a Cash Game Challenge session to win the Cash Game Challenge title.

Franke was known to win several titles at the Cash Game Festival that he also founded and wanted to become the first player to win back-to-back titles. On Thursday morning, he shared with us that WSOP champion Dainius Antanaitis, who was coming into the day on top of the leaderboard with 1,068 big blinds in profit, better watch out as he was going to take the lead.

Sometimes we hope for things that wind up happening and sometimes we don't. In this case, Franke followed through and won 1,239 big blinds on the televised €5/€5 pot-limit Omaha Cash Game Challenge session on Thursday evening to take the lead.

Meanwhile, Tahsin Malumder won 358 big blinds in the early €5/€5 no-limit hold'em Cash Game Challenge session. While this wasn't big enough to be in the leaderboard conversation, it still was a nice win in front of friends and family on TheFestivalOG Twitch channel.

Two more televised Cash Game Challenge sessions will take place on Friday with the games and stakes the same as Thursday. Sign-up on the casino floor if interested in joining the fun.
