Highlights of Day 3 of the Festival in Malta

The third day of The Festival Series was a very busy one, with 11 events on the schedule plus Franke’s Flip Flops. It was originally intended to be ten events, but Tuesday Madness was added, along with further Madness editions every night until Saturday.
We crowned a new champion, as Eirik Presttun became the third player to cross the finish line in first place in the H.O.R.S.E.S Mixed Games Main Event, defeating a field of 53 runners and riders. He's Norwegian but lives in Malta and follows in the footsteps of Jon Kyte and Sascha Manns, taking the title after a four-way deal, defeating Ruud Alsemgeest after a short heads up battle.

The Main Event also had its first of five starting days with 40 players starting and 15 securing their berths into Day 2. Jesper Lucas from Netherlands ended the day with the largest stack, with Milan Ljubisic in second place, the very same position he occupied at the end of his Hendon Mob Championship starting day.
The Hendon Mob Championship had its third and final starting day, with Rozvadov Main Event Winner Presiyan Tsvetanov bagging a huge 425,000 stack, miles ahead of anyone else. The 37 players who made it through the day will join the 44 who already progressed for Day 2.
The €250 Heads Up tournament was the most gruelling event of the day. It began at 12.30pm and did not end until 5.30am! The final match was contested between Hungarian Richard Broda and Bartiloniej Graboski from Poland. After a marathon final match, which lasted more than 2 and half hours, it was the Polish player who emerged as the winner, collecting a first prize of €2,800.
The first of the newly added Madness tournaments also took place and was won by The Festival’s Chief Enforcer Karev Tralla, who’s enthusiastic celebrations after winning is comedy gold.
Before the action got underway there was a hospitality trip to the Farsons Brewery, where the make Cisk, the most popular local beer on the island. Many cups of tea were had and the drunken rabble returned to the casino mid-way through the afternoon chanting “Flips, flips, flips.”
