The Festival Series Nominated for Best Live- and Online Event!
With the Festival Series we have had several stops now in the live- and online poker circuit. Our goal is to create an environment where all types of players from all across the world will feel in their comfort zone and experience poker like never before. With our young history thus far, we can only be very proud that it is being recognized by one of the world's leading poker media sites as PokerListings is. We are nominated for Best Live Event, as well as Best Online Event!!
PokerListings nominated us for two categories and we are humble of achieving such election. As you all know, we are trying to set up a great event for all kinds of players by having a widespread schedule available which includes hold'em, mixed game, and casino game events such as blackjack, roulette and slots. Together with our hospitality events, it can be seen as a real poker holiday for every poker player out there.
2023 has been a good year for us. A year with three great live events in every corner of Europe and with two online event series as well on 888poker! Let's sum them up one last time for this year, so we can look forward to 2024 in a massive manner!
The very first Festival Series event in the United Kingdom has been a great stop for us, where our event was hosted by the Dusk Till Dawn PokerClub in Nottingham. A great challenge for the us, and the players, to have our first event of the year in a place which is solely based on poker. With our hospitality events we went on a journey through the history of Robin Hood, and experienced events such as axe throwing, city tour, bowling, sports betting, and more. A fantastic outcome in the poker as well, with Ignacio Menendez topping a Main Event field of 609 entries, taking home £38,595 for the win!
The Festival Online was yet again hosted by one of the world's biggest poker operators in the likes of 888poker. Many events, across a period of around one month, were being played out and roughly $1,000,000 in Guaranteed Prize Pools were handed out. With buy-ins varying from as low as $11 and all the way up to $525, for any kind of player budget there was something available. The flagship tournament was of course the Main Event, but also the Multi-Day Mystery Bounty Event.
Another stop who would make its debut with The Festival Series was going to be sunny Malta! At Portomaso Casino they know how it's like to organize grand events, which they showcased throughout the entire week when we were as a guest. St. Julians is the breathing touristic heart of the island, and with the Portomaso Casino right in the middle of it, the bar was set high. The weather might not have been excellent throughout the event, the mixed games poker action went through the roof! On top of that, one of our Festival Friends in the name of Oystein Brenden, we hade a Norwegian who won the Main Event for €60,700!
On top of all this, we hosted our first ever Mystery Bounty tournament!
A grand thank you to Jonathan Micallef, JJ Galea, Ludo's Academy, and everyone involved. Malta has been massive for us, and we will see you next year in 2024!!
The second edition of The Festival Online on 888poker of the year 2023. Just like our live events, the schedule exploded with over 50+ tournaments. For a good two weeks, the poker action at 888poker would be as never before, with a mystery bounty event guaranteed on $150,000, and a Main Event guaranteeing $200,000, plenty of value was about to be taken by players from all across the world. The amount of different nationalities has been a blast to follow, and with The Festival Online Ontario going on in the same time it was even covered more bright!
The home base of The Festival Series has to be Bratislava. The beloved Banco Casino took us as a guest for the third consecutive year, and yet again it was their professionalism which made the event going spotless for everyone! Several records were broken during our last stop of 2023, where Polish hotshot Gabriel Rymar showcased how someone can win the two biggest events of the week with the Main Event and the Deepstack Event! Then we had Andrew Hanak who won three events within one Series, and Norwegian King Jon Kyte who took down our first ever H.O.R.S.E.S. Mixed Main Event!
See you again on the 18th of November, 2024!
