Slots.io’s Tauri Tiitsaar: “It has to be fun, it has to be fast, and it has to be fair”

Tauri Tiitsaar

We are delighted to welcome Slots.io to The Festival Series family as our newest partners! Tauri Tiitsaar spoke to us about what makes Slots.io unique, and why they’re a perfect fit for The Festival in Tallinn.

“What are we offering?” says Tauri in response to my question, “Only awesome stuff! I mean, we’ve had ideas ranging from full packages for one, flights, the blackjack tournament, the roulette tournament, the poker tournament - I mean, how can you have a proper gambling and exclusive experience without being part of all the things that this world has to offer? We are also thinking about giving the people who get packages through us a nice boat ride on the gulf of Tallinn. If the situation allows, of course. That’s something that I think will set us apart a bit.”

Indeed, Slots.io’s whole business model is very firmly focused on fun, and Tauri’s bubbling enthusiasm when talking about their online offering is - if you’ll forgive the phrase, in the age of corona - infectious.

“We are about to start running the qualifiers”

“Slots is generally targeted towards entertainment,” he says, “So to make sure people have fun and they have a good time. If you have €10 and you have a choice of a slots game where you have 20c bets or you go to the cinema, then everybody makes their own choice of entertainment. So slots tournaments - there are the generic ones where you have a leaderboard, you get a week, and then the highest win for example - the highest turnover, the biggest multiplier and so on. With Baccarat though, you can do it like a poker tournament - you can have satellites, and the prize is entry to a bigger tournament with a bigger prize pool.”

This is all sounding like a lot of fun - so when can players try their luck at winning a package? “We are about to start running the qualifiers,” says Tauri. “The guys have come up with a few innovative ways of how to do it. Some of them are going to be standard tournament ones, and whoever wins the tournament has top ten prizes, the first prize is obviously the most luxurious one with the tournament package - maybe two or three packages in some tournaments. We have this cool game called Live Crash, which is basically like a rocket moving upwards and you start from zero, and it goes right up to 1000x. And the person who manages to cash out the biggest multiplier will also get a nice package on top for an awesome experience with blackjack, roulette and poker tournaments - I mean, how good is that?” Very good, is the answer.

The customer is always at the centre of our universe

I remind Tauri that there are tentative plans to introduce slots events, as well as a number of other games, to the Festival Series schedule further down the line. Does he have any ideas about what could work in a live casino setting? “Actually we haven’t discussed the slots part with Franke yet,” he laughs. “Franke is a guy who’s always full of ideas anyway. Our main focus is online. But when Franke came with the idea, saying let’s have some blackjack and roulette tournaments in an offline setting, then we just couldn’t resist.” Indeed, Tauri is very enthusiastic about the innovative multi-game format of The Festival Series. “Even if you’re a poker player,” he explains, “If it’s part of the package, you’ll go and try it, you’ll get a new experience - and most people like new experiences.”

Tauri is keen to put his money where his mouth is, as it were, and will definitely be attending The Festival in Tallinn himself. “Yeah of course!” he enthuses, “100%, if it’s possible. I’m in Tallinn, so it’s even easier.” He remains pragmatic but optimistic about the prospects for a festival in June, though. “The sun is out, the weather is getting better, you’re seeing more laughs and smiles on people’s faces, so it’s good - probably a lot better than many other places in the world.”

Just before he signs off, Tauri emphasises that Slots.io’s main concern is giving something back to their customers - primarily through a conspicuously generous loyalty programme. “With slots.io, even if you win, you’re still going to get a percentage of your turnover back. So no matter what, whether you’re winning, losing, or whether you just break even, you will always get some free spins, some cash bonuses and rewards. That’s the beauty of it - we want to make sure that the customer is always at the centre of our universe. It has to be fun, it has to be fast, and it has to be fair to the player. When you’re winning - if you win a million, we want to celebrate that with you. And that’s what the loyalty programme is about as well - you always get rewarded, it doesn’t matter if you have a good day or a bad day - it always gives you something to feel good about.” This sounds very much like the philosophy of The Festival Series, I tell him. Tauri agrees, “It’s a match made in heaven.”
