Franke Back on Top After Day 2 of The Festival in Rozvadov
After the first two days of The Festival in Rozvadov, with six ranking events completed, a very familiar face is once again back at the top of the Player of the Series Leaderboard - Martin “Franke” von Zweigbergk. The last time the Swede assumed that position was during The Festival in Malta last year, when he held on to take the title.
He got off to flying start on Wednesday at King’s Resort, when he won the Blackjack tournament, which with 81 entries, had a 1.5x multiplier applied to the base points, earning Franke 38.75pts. He also picked up 14.75pts for his min-cash in the Sviten on Tuesday and a further 1.25 participation points for taking part in the HendonMob Championship and now leads the field into Day 3 with 54.75pts.
Franke’s best disciplines are still to come and there are signs from his wider global results that 2026 is somewhat of a breakout year for The Festival’s commander-in chief. Securing top points in the only non-poker event on the schedule must surely give him a great chance to go deep in the Player of the Series race once again.
Second place on the leaderboard is currently occupied by Hendon Mob Champion Dmitri Dudakov from Estonia. He secured the €9,450 first prize in the €175 buy-in event, which had a total of 351 entries made across its three starting days. That win earned him 51.25pts, leaving him just 3.5pts behind Franke and ten points ahead of Hendon Mob runner-up Roberto Dossi from Italy, on 41.25pts.
Latvian Dennis Lebedevs, winner of Wednesday’s €150 PLO 4/5/6 Card is in 4th place on 40pts, just 1.25pts behind Dossi. Further down the leaderboard, the Festival’s Melvin Schroën is in 13th place, having achieved 3rd place in the Blackjack tournament.
There are three events that count towards the Player of the Series race that will be completed on Thursday:
- €350 8-Game
- €550 Mixed Games Main Event
- €125 Thursday PLO Bounty Madness
Franke may be in the lead now, but there’s still a long way to go and the standings will likely change significantly after Thursday’s action concludes.
