Penultimate Day of The Festival Bratislava Sees Main Event FT Finalised on Day 6
It's been blink-and-you 'll-miss-it stuff here at Banco Casino Bratislava over the course of the week. Somehow, six days have passed, and now it's almost all over. The Main Event final table was confirmed and 31 entrants took ti the felt for the debut of the €1,100 10-Game Mix was a hit, with 31 entrants being made on Day 1. A field of 42 took to pen and paper to participate in the Sportsbook tournament, which continues to keep growing at every stop. Here is what happened.
€550 Main Event
Before the Main kicked off for the day we had the Flip Finals. Sami Korpela became Franke’s flip winner, outflipping a field of 5 players. Yevhenii Havriushenko won the heads-up cash game flip by losing with the worst hand. In Festival fashion, the loser of each flip was the winner.
As the flips were taking place, the final flight of the Main was rolling on, and nine players went through into the Day 2 field. Tal Moriel banked 1,270,000 in the turbo flight to join Markus Gaulhofer at the top of the counts. The 64 strong field condensed at a decent rate early on. One of those early eliminations was Sebastian Kotowicz, who was gunning for the three-peat.
He had his aces cracked in a three-bet pot, getting it all in against king-ten on a king-high flop. A king materialised on the turn and Kotowicz would have to wait for the Triple title.
Jo Kim was mounting a challenge. The Poker media personality came into the day's play with a stack on the shorter side, but she quickly found her stack growing throughout the day. She was running good too. Kim opened the button to 95,000. Tonis Vikk moved all in for around 350,000 with the blinds at 20,000/40,000. Kim called with 10 10 . Vikk had J J .
It was all fine and dandy for the jacks until the river, where Kim binked a ten across the 4 9 9 8 10 runout. Later on, she was still on the up, and her Queens held against nines having jammed over an early position open.
However, Kim's run caame to an end in 11th. She open jammed around 20 big blinds with 4 4 . Zbigniew Wieczorek who had 10 10 in the small blind, made the call. There were no surprises this time across the 3 2 9 6 7 .
The final table bubble was burst in brutal fashion. Mladen Stojanovic was on the wrong end of a cooler. He was all in pre with Q Q against the covering stack of Henning Wendlandt, who had A A . €1,100 10-Game Mix
The debut of the €1,100 10-Game Mix saw the Boss, Martin 'Franke' von Zweigbergk bag the biggest. The field was whittled down to 18, with Niclas Thumm, Chris Briggs and Andreas Hoglund all falling short. Hoglund's prescene in the tournament was enabled by winning the Staff flip, meaning Hoglund lost eight flips to win his seat into the tournament. Only at The Festival!
'Franke' will be looking to become the proud debut winner when play comes to an end later today. Registration remains open for the first two levels of the day, so the field could still grow yet. Below are the counts.

€125 Sportsbook Tournament
Perhaps the story of the day was the victory of Michal Zielinski in the Sportsbook Tournament. A tasty field of 42 entered the Sportsbook tournament in search of points, which are gained on correct outcome and correct score. At one point early into the day, there was a 19-way tie at the top, with goals flying in left right and centre.
It seemed that many entrants predicted 20 goals or under for the tiebreak, and they couldn't have been more wrong in department with 23 coming in the opening four games alone. It was a close run affair throughout, and it all hinged on the last game. Zielinski and The Festival's own Melvin Schroen had two different scorelines, 3-1 and 2-1. With the score at 2-0, Schroen needed a Genoa goal to make the title his. 2-0 or 3-1 was no good. Unfortunately, the game ran out 2-0 which boosted the standings of two of his colleagues, myself and The Festival photographer and Estonian rastafarian Mairo Toom. It was also good news for Zielinski, as that meant he finished top of the standings with nine points. Whats even better is the Polish national managed to win his ticket via a €25 flip at the beginning of the week! Below are the payouts
