The Festival Weekend Vilnius Day 2 Sees Three Winners Emerge and Eight Join Day 2 of The Main Event

Day 2 has flown by at the Olympic Casino Lietuva, and we are now at the halfway point of The Festival Weekend Vilnius already!. It has been a successful debut thus far, which has seen an additional 8 people join the Day 2 field of the €555 Main Event PKO. Three trophies will be drawn by our talented artist Modernoise for the winners of the €350 BigO, the €200 NLH Freezeout, and the €150 PLO5 Bomb Pot Feature. Here is a rundown of what happened over the day.

€555 Main Event PKO

The penultimate flight of the Main Event attracted 67 players, all of whom were in pursuit of bounties and bagging a stack for Day 2. The flight was cut down to 12.5% of the field, meaning 8 players progressed to in-the-money status and will return for Day 2 at 3.30 p.m. local time today/tomorrow. Of the 8 players who made it through, it was home-team representative Gintaras Naglius who bagged the biggest. Naglius's cashes have come exclusively in the Baltics, and this is his first Festival Series cash. Below are the payouts.

€350 BigO

Valentinas Liuzinas

A field of 44 took to the tables in the €350 BigO tournament. BigO is 5-card PLO hi-lo, with half the pot being awarded to the best high hand, and the other to the low hand. Like in yesterday's Sviten Special, there was a strong Italian presence at the tables, with 12 players representing the beautiful nation. That presence carried over to the final table, which was dominated by Italians and Lithuanians. Valentinas Liuzinas was in a strong position for most of the tournament, and when play was four-handed, he had just shy of 1,000,000. Ultimately, the title stayed on home soil, but not to the player you think it would. Instead, it was Remigijus Politika who mounted a phenomenal comeback to triumph over his compatriots. Below are the payouts.

€200 NLH Freezeout

The one freezeout of the weekend stint at Olympic Casino Lietuva saw 58 take to the felt. There was some side bet action between Festival Series Boss, Martin "Franke" von Zweigbergk, and Berhan Ahmadi. They agreed on a wager on who would last the longest in the tournament. Unfortunately for Ahmadi, he busted before "Franke", who employed the strategy of sitting out for most of the tournament until Ahmadi busted.

Ultimately, Keimo Suominen used his only bullet the best, and took down a score of €3,197 and the trophy in the early hours. This is Suominen's first cash of the year and his second Festival Series cash overall.

€150 PLO5 Bomb Pot Feature

In the second of three Bomb Pot tournaments to take place over the four-day stint in Vilnius, 46 players entered in pursuit of a title. One of whom was Andreas "Wiseguy" Hoglund, the Festival's very own interviewer extraordinaire and hospitality host. He was looking for a second title in as many days, as he won the PLO4 Bomb Pot Feature on the opening day of the weekend. Ultimately, Hoglund couldn't defend his title, and Fabio Bianchi took down the title in the small hours of this morning, denying €350 Sviten Special winner, Simone Fumagalli, a second title of the week. Below are the payouts.
