Sviten Record, First Winner & ME Hype – The Festival Bratislava Day 1
The very first day of The Festival in Bratislava is in the books and although the Main Event was not even played yet, the Banco Casino was buzzing with action and three tournaments, plus satellites, flips and the first leg of the cash game challenge were all held yesterday.
Sviten Record
As last year, the Sviten Special was the first tournament on the menu this year and this event had a total of 59 entries – almost double the number of last year’s tourney.
After the first day, seven players remain with Sweden’s Peter Johansson in the lead. Among the contenders is also Jan Risberg, who won the last Festival’s Flip Challenge and a full package to this event.

Hendon Mob Warm-Up Almost in the Money
The other big tournament that started yesterday was the Hendon Mob Warm-Up – a preliminary event to the Hendon Mob Championship that will be held in the Banco Casino in November.
The top Top-5 players and the bubble player will all receive a €200 ticket to the Hendon Mob Grand Final in one month on top of the regular prize pool.
With 18 / 131 players remaining and 16 places being paid, the event is very close to the money ranks.

Jakub Matusiak Becomes First Winner at The Festival Series
The first event to finish at this Festival Series was the Texas Knockout. Jakub Matusiak won the tournament against Laurent Degros to become the first official Winner at The Festival in Bratislava 2022.

Moving on to the Main Event and the Roulette Championship
Arguably today's highlight is Day 1a of the €550 Main Event – with €500,000 guaranteed, we’re expecting serious numbers of entries, with a total of five starting flights running between today and Friday. We’ll be documenting it all right here on the blog, from the first shuffle up and deal until the last chips are bagged and tagged, along with a smorgasbord of side events to suit all tastes and pockets.
Besides the Main Event, the 2nd highlight of the day will be the Roulette Championship which will be played the entire day starting at 2 pm.
