When Svenska Spel introduced “Spela Tillsammans” (Play Together), it was the perfect fit for that community spirit. The gatherings among friends were called spelstuga in Swedish, which directly translates to “Gambling Cabin.”
As Fredrik Boberg from the team explains, “Timing was a key factor. We were one of the first to stream poker, so it was new and exciting for the viewers. We also always focused on a good vibe — the internet is full of hatred, but we had zero tolerance for that. Hopefully, people feel welcome and quickly a part of the community.”
From A Small Stream To A Growing Movement
Over the years, Gambling Cabin has evolved far beyond poker streams. Today they host podcasts, write blogs, and publish daily betting tips and analysis. Their Twitch channel has grown into the biggest poker stream in Northern Europe — a remarkable milestone for a Swedish-language show.
What makes it all work is the same welcoming tone that Bengt and his friends started with. It’s about entertainment and togetherness as much as skill. The crew’s approach is relaxed, friendly, and always built around the community. “We’ve always wanted to create that same feeling of sitting in a cabin with friends,” Fredrik says. “That’s really what The Gambling Cabin is all about.”
